With Opening Day right around the corner, I've created a series of 9 caches in honor of our local ballclub, the Frisco Roughriders. Established in 2003 after moving from Shreveport, LA, the 'Riders play in one of the most iconic and beautiful minor league parks in America, Dr. Pepper Ballpark.The Rangers might be a routinely abysmal franchise, but several future stars have sharpened their skills in Frisco before going onto brighters lights and bigger stages. One of them was Jonathan Hernandez.
Hernandez was signed by the Rangers in 2013. He rode sucsessful stats and a wipeout slider toward a major league debut in 2019. He recorded a 4.41 xFIP and 0.6 fWAR across 31 IP in 2020. Going into 2021 Hernandez is the most stable, efficent part of the Rangers bullpen.
