Geocache Description:

Thanks are due to "Dr. Sevy" as the original hider of this classic cache. The solid-rock-seekers adopted the cache in 2021 to continue to maintain it for future generations of cachers to enjoy. Cache is now an ammo can.

Original Cache Description (by Dr. Sevy) Below:

Cache is located .40 mile North of the Bald Knob outlook. Has fine view of Black Snout and Mt. Shaw (Twin Peaks Cache site.)

Plan on about a long 3 mile round trip hike. Take the Bald Knob Trail to the outlook at the carriage road turnaround. This trailhead is located on Route 171 at the Moultonborough/Tuftonborough Town line. N 43 Degr 42.871, W 71 Degre 18.100. Cache is only 1.07 miles air route from here but over some pretty steep terrain !

Trail follows blazes and cairns and "rises purposefully" to first outlook at .75 mile and then Bald Knob at approx. 1.0 mile. Trail is steep in places and will take average hiker about 45 minutes. After taking in the view, First set a waypoint to this location so you can find your way back, then bushwack 180 degrress from the view over rock ledges with occassional cairns and ravines to the cache site on "Turtleback" peak. Generally keep walking until you get to the height of land which is the open summit.

Here generally follow the cache heading to the height of land and the bald summitt cone. There are remnants of the steel hold down cables that held the UFO n back in 1958.

The cache is in a tupperware container behind a weathered tree in a 3 sided rock crevice slightly below the high point and as you face Black Snout and Mt. Shaw.

The cache has a camera which you can take a snapshot of you and the cache on the peak and with Buzz Bug if you're the lucky one to find Buzz Lightyear the Buzz Bug Travel Bug. Please take Buzz to another cache. His goal is to spend the winter in a nice warm climate ! Other neat stuff in cache( Including a ski racing computer game.)

This spot rivals any in the Whites for remoteness and a sense of detachment but watch out for UFO's.

( You did set a waypoint right ?) The twin peaks cache is over on Black Snout but don't be fooled by the carriage road it's still about 2 miles away !

Original hint: Look left from 3 rebar points young man !
