There is a lovely bushwalk on a fire trail between GC8652B "The Gib Lower Entrance" and this cache.
The Gib has many walking trails and the views overlooking Mittagong are extensive. This reserve is the ongoing scene of dedicated volunteers eradicating exotic weeds and shrubs. At the start of this effort the Local RFS controlled burnt the reserve... burning the many overgrown blackberry bushes some as big as houses, this allowed the volunteers a clear canvas to tackle new growth of the exotics. This is an ongoing effort.
I have added a map of Mt Gibraltar Reserve in the Gallery
To find the cache...turn off for parking just off the main road and it is a short walk to the gate which controls vehicle access to the reserve, the main Sydney to Melbourne train line is below this area and photo opportunities are for both trains and wildlife/flowers.
