I came here a couple of years ago with Shorcake57 to do Geo202's Kayaking tour. We managed to get all of the caches despite the light rain. We noticed a lot of trash in the water, and we collected what we could along our journey. I've been wanting to do a CITO and a Kayaking event for a while so I thought, why not combine the two?
If you have your own kayak there is a launch here. For those of you who don't have a kayak I've been in contact with Moss Point Parks and recreation in regards to their kayak rentals, as well as their pricing. They're still working on it, and will get back to me. I will post an announcement as soon as they update me.
Suggested items to bring:
hat and or sunglasses
sunscreen
snacks
Please bring a life vest with you, you can never be too safe!
I will provide a case of water for everyone.
Also, if you have a grabber bring that as well, it will help get those hard to reach items without leaving your kayak. I will also provide small buckets/milk crates to place in your kayak to hold the trash you collect.
For those of you who don't like kayaking or being out in the water, you are still welcome to come to this event. There are plently of areas to walk and collect trash as well.
Afterwards; for those of you who want to join us for lunch we plan on getting together after the event.
