A traditional cache along a rather non-traditional road.
West of Eden
With apologies to beltfamily, John Steinbeck and a few other authors.
Those who have been geocaching for a while will remember beltfamily, he was one of the area's earliest and most enthusiastic geocachers. He had a cache with the same name, hidden not far from this one - - http://https://coord.info/GC1965Y hidden February 2008. It got suddenly archived when finders - - and the CO became a little concerned at the need to climb over a locked gate.
There was no road through here in those days, just a paper road. Landowners and the general public seemed to have different views on what the existence of a paper road meant. My personal opinion is that anyone can go on a paper road and access should not be hindered by a locked gate. Anyway the road is now a formed road but just to confuse everyone, it has a locked gate at the upper end. As far as the beltfamily hide is concerned, I don't think it was ever actually on the paper road so whoever owned the land had the right to get a bit precious about it.
I'm pretty confident this one is not on private land. If you hear any different please let me know.
