This is the first of 3 geocaches dedicated to Special Members of My Family
Hi, my name is SOOTY Joybell came to the R.S.P.C.A. in Burwood and timid as I was, I said to myself (she is not going home without me!) I was about 4 years old.
I settled into my new home with Joybell and Peter my new mum and dad and was happy, a little time later Joybell and Peter bought another home it was a longish trip getting there, but once we settled in, I loved my new home, everyone in the new town was so friendly.
Joybell and Peter often took me to the beach where we went fishing (I didn’t like getting my feet wet, I’m a fussy little fellow).
We got a bigger car and I have shortish legs so I needed a bit of help in and out. Camping was always good fun we went with other dog families all of us mature dogs. Camp fires were especially good, lying stretched out behind my mum or dad’s chairs. My friends slept in their family’s cars, I didn’t like it at 1st but my mates did, who was I to question.
Because I was such a well-behaved dog (oh no not that … word) I could sit on mums’ knees for a ride on the steam train to Maryborough, we did this quite a few times. When I was about 7yrs old and not seeing too well, bumping into things and hurting myself we took a drive into Ballarat’s R.S.P.C.A and I had a word with a cheeky Jack- Russell X they called her Genni, she took over so I wouldn’t bump into things anymore, it worked she became my best friend.
I know Genni worried when I went to see Aaron the vet but I don’t remember anything else.............
