2021 WGA Fall Campout
September 17-19th 2021
Dells of Eau Claire County Park - Marathon County
Your Wisconsin Geocaching Association is proud to host the annual WGA Fall Campout.
This year it will be located at Dells of Eau Claire County Park near Aniwa, Wisconsin.
This park is one of the special jewels in the Marathon County park system. The Dells of the Eau Claire Park surrounds fantastic geological features created by the Eau Claire River. Ancient volcanic rock palisades and potholes carved in the rock by the falling water create a unique place at the dells and gorge. The river bisects this 190-acre park. A dam upstream from the falls creates an impoundment, which provides for a swimming beach. With 27 campsites and the adjacent Ice Age Trail, this park offers visitors a number of nature trails right on the banks of the Eau Claire River along with swimming beach, spectacular waterfalls and rapids.
Make sure you put this cache on your watchlist, as there will invariably be updates for the event.
Camping
If you need to make a campsite reservation, head over to the reservation site. It is not a requirement to camp (but it'll be a lot of fun!) If you are seeking other accommodations, check out the Wausau area for a number of hotels and other accomodations.
Nametags
As a WGA member, if you want a laminated name badge, head over to the forums and get your name on the list. If you’re not a member, don’t worry, you can sign up for free at www.wi-geocaching.com.
WGA Apparel
The 2021 WGA apparel will be sold at this event. Items are limited. Once they are gone, they are gone, so buy them while you can.
Grill out and Potluck Lunch on Saturday!
As a thank you to our members, we will be supplying hot dogs, brats and burgers for our members. Please let us know what you'd like in your will attend log. We will also have a potluck for lunch on Saturday! Using the first letter of your last name please bring the following items:
Last name A-H: salad, vegetable or fruit
Last name I-P: chips or snacks
Last name Q-Z: cookies or dessert
Pancake Breakfast on Sunday!
The WGA will once again be hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. However due to stacking rules by GroundSpeak, we cannot create another event. Please indicate on your “will attend” if you will be attending the breakfast as well, to ensure we have enough caching fuel for everyone.
Breakfast cost: $5 per adult (13 years and older), $3 per child (6-12 years old), free to kids under 6 years of age. Note that geocachers may attend and participate in the social activities for free, but you must pay for breakfast to eat.
Breakfast includes:
Pancakes…. Lots of them.
Breakfast sausage (a reasonable limit will be placed on to control costs).
Beverage of your choice, including coffee, tea, hot cocoa, orange juice and milk.
Fresh fruit such as bananas and oranges.
