Geocache Description:

At GZ you will be facing the steps leading to the beach.  Look for a brass plaque.  The cache container is a labelled 15cm long clear tube with a Silver lid about 1cm diameter.  Take a seat, fill in the log and enjoy the view.

Stingray Bay is located at the mouth of the Merri River and is within the Merri Marine Sanctuary which covers 25 hectares of coast from the breakwater to Thunder Point.  The sheltered beach and bay are popular for recreational activities such as snorkelling and beachcombing, picnicking and family swimming.  When the sea is calm, the channel between the islands is an excellent location for diving as it is teeming with sea life such as giant cuttlefish, draughtboard sharks, zebra and parrotfish and of course stingrays.
