I enjoy passing by this former bus depot often. This former Greyhound station was built in the late 1920's or early 1930's. it was an open-faced waiting station for passengers and patrons of the old San Francisco Municipal Railway Cars. The building was designed to mirror the nearby Burlingame Train station that was built in 1894 (and is now start of a multi-cache. Training Day )
After the streetcar line was discontinued around the 1950s, the building was vacant for many years. In 1990, the bus company renovated the building for use as a Burlingame bus station. Afterward that was discontinued, an Italian sandwich shop occupied the building from 2005 until recently.
Now, Burlingame Parks and Recreation uses the building. However, around the building is a small public picnic area, some benches and easy access to downtown Burlingame.
Please watch for muggles as traffic does pass by as do people walking, jogging and bike-riding. No writing instruments supplied so please bring your own. Please re-hide out of view as found.
