CRGT - Schloss Aichberg
Bewegte Geschichte.
Schloss Aichberg und die Ansiedlung Eichberg liegen zwischen Vorau und dem Fluss Lafnitz. Hier, an der Grenze zu Ungarn, wurde zu Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts mit der Errichtung eines Burgengürtels gegen kriegerische Einfälle aus dem Osten begonnen. Die ritterliche Familie der Aichberger war bis in das späte 14. Jahrhundert hier ansässig. Die weitere Geschichte des Schlosses war geprägt von kriegerischen Konflikten und Wirrnissen in der Region. Bei mehrfachen Einfällen der Türken im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert wurden Schloss und Dorf ausgeraubt und verwüstet. Die kostspieligen Aufbauarbeiten trieben die Schlossherren in den Ruin. Und es folgten zahlreiche Besitzerwechsel. Zwischen 1914 und 1918 wurde das Schloss zur Unterbringung galizischer Flüchtlinge genutzt. Im 2. Weltkrieg diente es als Zufluchtsort der Zivilbevölkerung und Quartier der deutschen Wehrmacht.
Retter in der Not.
1986 kam das Haus an Cajetan Gril und damit endlich zur Ruhe. Nach der Renovierung durch den umtriebigen Kunsthändler werden heute im Schloss Aichberg stets ungewöhnliche Ausstellungen gezeigt.
Laufende Ausstellung (seit 2018): jeweils Ende Mai bis Ende Oktober, jeweils Sonntag von 10 bis 18 Uhr und nach Vereinbarung.
Eintritt: 10 Euro pro Person (bis 8 Jahre frei)

CRGT - Aichberg Castle
A turbulent history.
Aichberg Castle and the settlement of Eichberg are located between Vorau and the river Lafnitz. Here, at the end of the 12th century on the border with Hungary, a line of castles began to be constructed to defend against military incursions from the East. The Knights of Aichberg lived here until the late 14th century. Thereafter, the castle walls continued to provide protection in times of war and turmoil in the region. Multiple incursions by the Turks in the 16th and 17th centuries led to the devastation and plundering of both the castle and the village. Renovation and reconstruction expenses drove the lords of the castle to ruin, which led through the years to many changes of ownership. Between 1914 and 1918, the castle housed Galician refugees, and then during World War II, it served as a refuge for the civilian population and as quarters for the German Army.
A knight in shining armor.
In 1986, Cajetan Gril took ownership of the castle, finally initiating a period of calm after all this turbulence. The bustling art dealer undertook a thoroughgoing renovation, so that today Aichberg Castle makes an attractive venue for unusual exhibitions.

CRGT - Grad Aichberg
Razgibana zgodovina.
Grad Aichberg in naselbina Eichberg ležita med mestom Vorau in reko Lafnitz. Tukaj, na meji z Madžarsko, se je konec 12. stoletja začela gradnja grajskega pasu proti bojevniškim vpadom z Vzhoda. Viteška družina Aichberger je tukaj prebivala vse do poznega 14. stoletja. Nadaljnjo zgodovino gradu so zaznamovali bojevniški konflikti in zmešnjave v regiji. Ob večkratnih turških vpadih v 16. in 17. stoletju sta bila grad in vas izropana ter opustošena. Draga obnovitvena dela so grajske gospode pripeljala v propad. Tako so sledile številne menjave lastnikov. Med 1914 in 1918 je bil grad uporabljen za nastanitev galicijskih migrantov. V 2. svetovni vojni je služil kot pribežališče civilnega prebivalstva in bivališče nemške oborožene sile.
Rešitelj v stiski.
Leta 1986 je poslopje prešlo v last Cajetana Grila. Po prenovi, ki jo je izvedel živahni trgovec umetnin, grad Aichberg danes gosti številne zanimive razstave.
