Callisto is Jupiter’s second largest moon and the third largest moon in our solar system. It is named for a woman turned into a bear by Zeus in Greek mythology. It was discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei.
My good friend, catlovergall, named her black lab Callista after this moon. Callista has since passed and is memorialized just up the hill overlooking the North Fork of the American River.
Enjoy your walk and views along the way.
