At the present day intersection of Miller Road and Centerville Road was the settlement of Morris.
The post office was established in April of 1880. The town was said to have a gin, flour mill, corn mill, drug, grocery, and dry goods store, a general store, and a school.
The railroad by passed the town in the late 1880s which led to the towns declined. The post office was closed in 1889 and moved to Rowlett.
