
March 1949, International Manufacturing Company moved into the Southern Aircraft Corporation, which had gone bankrupt earlier that year. Some of the products IMCO manufactured were tractors, aircraft parts, and bus bodies.
In the mid-1960s IMCO started producing bomb casings. Pictured here is a machinist attaching the lugs to a 500 pound bomb casing in the 1970s. Since the mid-1990s, IMCO, now General Dynamics has been the sole casings supplier for the U.S. armed forces and NATO countries.
