CRGT - Schloss Pöllau
Ein großzügiges Geschenk.
Inmitten von Pöllau erhebt sich das heutige Schloss und einstige Augustiner Chorherrenstift. 1482 verfügte Hans von Neuberg, der damalige Besitzer der Burg und des Marktes Pöllau, in seinem Testament, die Burg nach seinem Tod in ein Augustiner-Chorherrenstift umzuwidmen. Das Stift Pöllau wurde schließlich 22 Jahre später gegründet. Im selben Jahr zogen acht Chorherren unter Propst Ulrich vom Stift Vorau nach Pöllau um. Zwischen 1677 und 1779 wurde das Stift umgebaut und erweitert. Der Grundriss der Kirche und der mächtigen Kuppelbau wurden dem Petersdom in Rom nachempfunden - im Volksmund wird das Bauwerk deshalb oft als "Steirischer Petersdom" bezeichnet.
Spuren bleiben bestehen.
Allerdings wurde das Stift Pöllau bereits sechs Jahre später im Zuge der Josephinischen Reformen aufgehoben und an den Staat übergeben. Doch das fast 300-jährige Wirken der Chorherren machte Pöllau zum geistigen, kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen Mittelpunkt des Pöllauer Tales. Heute befindet sich das Schloss im Besitz der Marktgemeinde Pöllau. Pfarrkirche und Osttrakt gehören der Diözese Graz-Seckau. Es beheimatet Veranstaltungsräumlichkeiten, wie einen großen und kleinen Freskensaal, Refektorium, Seminar und Ausstellungsräume, die Musikschule Pöllau-Vorau-Joglland, die Proberäume der renommierten Musikkapelle sowie das Tourismusbüro uvm.
SCHLOSSFÜHRUNG IN PÖLLAU

Erfahren Sie bei einer Führung im "Schloss" Pöllau viel Wissenswertes über die Geschichte und auch über das Wirken der Augustiner Chorherren, dabei besichtigen Sie den "Großen Freskensaal" - die einstige Stiftsbibliothek mit den wunderbaren Fresken - und das Refektorium im Schloss Pöllau. Weiter geht es zu den Innenhöfen des Schlosses, wie dem Kriegerdenkmalhof mit den herrlichen Arkaden. Im Anschluss daran gibt es einen kurzen Rundgang in der Pfarrkirche Pöllau mit der angrenzenden Sakristei. Als Abschluss kann noch der Schlosspark – einst als Stiftsgarten der Augustiner Chorherren genutzt – besucht werden.

Im Schloss Pöllau befindet sich im Kirchhof die Bronzestatue des weit über die Region hinaus bekannten Pfarrers Raimund Ochabauer. Die Summe der auf der Gedenktafel ersichtlichen Ziffern des Errichtungsjahres, ergibt die Zahl A des Codes.

Wie viele Uhren sind auf dem Deckenfresko im Durchgang vom Schulplatz zum Schlosspark ersichtlich. Die Anzahl ergibt die Zahl B des Codes.

In der Pfarrkirche Pöllau, dem Steirischen Petersdom, befindet sich auf der Kanzel vier allegorische Figuren. Eine davon hält zwei Symbole in den Händen. Die Buchstabenanzahl vom gesuchten Symbol ergibt die Zahl C des Codes

Die Räumlichkeiten der Musikschule Pöllau-Vorau-Joglland befinden sich auch im Schloss Pöllau. Beim Aufgang zur Musikschule thront der steinerne Grablöwe. Nach dem gusseisernen Eingangstor sind 31 Stufen hinaufzusteigen. Die Anzahl der restlichen Stufen zum Eingang der Musikschule, neben dem Podest des Löwens, ergeben die Zahl D des Codes.

CRGT - Pöllau Castle
A generous gift.
This castle and former Augustinian monastery is located In the middle of the town of Pöllau. In 1482 Hans Neuberg, the owner of both the castle and the town at the time, stipulated in his will that the castle be converted to an Augustinian monastery on his death . Pöllau Abbey was finally founded 22 years later. In the same year, eight canons under Provost Ulrich moved there from Vorau Abbey. Between 1677 and 1779, the monastery was rennovated and expanded. The floor plan of the church and its mighty dome were modeled after the Basilica of St. Peter in Rome, and so the church came to be known popularly as "Styria's St. Peter's Cathedral".
Traces remain.
Pöllau Abbey was already disbanded only six years after completion of construction as a consequence of Joseph II's religious reform. The monastery complex became the property of the state. Nonetheless, the nearly 300 year's the canons live and worked in Pöllau left an indelible mark on the Pöllau valley, and Pöllau remained its spiritual, cultural and economic center even after the dissolution of the monastery. Today, the castle is owned by the market town of Pöllau. The parish church and the east wing belong to the diocese of Graz-Seckau. The castle houses event space, including a large and a small "fresco hall", refectory, seminar and exhibition rooms, the Pöllau-Vorau-Joglland Music School, the rehearsal rooms of the renowned Pöllau Marching Band, the tourist office and much more.

Content: Come on a journey into the past . During a guided tour of the castle, a lot can be learned about the history of the former Pöllau Abbey and its Augustinian Canons. Visit the Large Fresco Hall, the former monastery library with its wonderful frescos, and the refectory in Pöllau Castle. The tour continues into the fantastic arcaded castle courtyard with the Soldiers' Memorial. You will visit the Pöllau parish church and the attached sacristy. The tour ends in the castle park, which was used as the abbey garden when the canons lived here.

CRGT - Dvorec Pöllau
Radodarno darilo.
Sredi mesta Pöllau se dviga današnji dvorec in nekdanji samostan avguštinskih kanonikov. Leta 1482 je Hans von Neuberg, takratni lastnik gradu in trga Pöllau, v svojem testamentu odredil, da se mora grad po njegovi smrti spremeniti v samostan avguštinskih kanonikov. 22 let pozneje je bil končno ustanovljen samostan Pöllau. V istem letu se je 8 kanonikov na pobudo prošta Ulricha iz samostana Vorau preselilo v Pöllau. Med 1677 in 1779 je bil samostan prenovljen in povečan. Tloris cerkve in gradnja mogočne kupole sta sledila vzoru bazilike sv. Petra v Rimu – zato zgradbo v ljudski govorici pogosto imenujejo tudi "avstrijskoštajerska bazilika sv. Petra".
Sledi ostajajo.
Vendar pa je bil samostan Pöllau že 6 let pozneje v teku jožefinskih reform ukinjen in šel v roke države. Kljub temu je skoraj 300 letno delovanje kanonikov spremenilo mesto Pöllau v duhovno, kulturno in gospodarsko središče doline Pöllau. Danes je dvorec v lasti občine Pöllau. Župnijska cerkev in vzhodni trakt pripadata škofiji Graz-Seckau. V dvorcu so prireditveni prostori, kot so velika in majhna dvorana s freskami, refektorij, seminarski in razstavni prostori, glasbena šola Pöllau-Vorau-Joglland, vadbene sobe za renomirane glasbene kapele kot tudi turistična pisarna in še veliko drugega.
