CRGT - Burg Deutschlandsberg
Es war einmal...
...ein Felskamm am nordwestlichen Rand eines fruchtbaren Tals, das uns Jahrtausende später als Deutschlandsberg bekannt sein wird. Aufgrund seiner erhöhten und nahezu rundum geschützten Lage diente die Erhebung bereits den Menschen der Jungsteinzeit als Siedlungsplatz und bot daraufhin noch zahllosen weiteren Generationen eine Heimat. Genau auf diesem Felsen errichtete man schließlich im Mittelalter eine kleine, prunkvolle Höhenburg.
Der erste Burgherr, auch als Graf zu Lonsperg bekannt, wurde erstmals 1153 urkundlich erwähnt und verwaltete bis 1263 die, ab 970 und bis weit ins 19. Jahrhundert zum Salzburger Erzbistum gehörende Besitzung "Landsberg" in der heutigen Weststeiermark sowie die gleichnamige als Hauptverwaltungssitz genutzte Festung. Diese erlebte zahlreiche bedeutende Aus- und Umbauphasen sowohl in der Romanik und Gotik als auch der Renaissance. Doch wie so oft kommt nach dem Aufstieg der Fall und unsere kleine Festung wurde ab 1850 nach und nach zu einer Ruine. Das Ende ihrer Geschichte war damit jedoch noch lange nicht erreicht, da es immer wieder Menschen gab die sich ihrer annahmen und ihr zu neuer Größe verhalfen. Seit 1932 ist besagte Höhenburg letztlich im Besitz der Stadtgemeinde Deutschlandsberg und entwickelt sich sukzessive zu einem überregionalen Ausstellungszentrum.
Man sieht also, unsere Burg ist schon längst wieder aus ihrem Dornröschenschlaf erwacht und öffnet, wie schon vor hunderten von Jahren, ihre Tore für neugierige Besucher.

In 8 permanenten Ausstellungen mit über 5.000 Exponaten erlebt ihr hier lebende Historie in ihrer schönsten Form, wandelt auf dem neu errichteten Rundweg durch die Altburg direkt auf den Spuren der einstigen Bauherren und genießt beim besteigen unseres Aussichtsturms einen exklusiven Blick auf die Region bis nach Slowenien. Mit etwas Glück könnt ihr bei uns sogar den Archäologen direkt bei der Arbeit über die Schulter schauen und exklusiv die neuesten Fundstücke betrachten.

CRGT - Deutschlandsberg Castle
Once upon a time...
there was a rocky crest on the northwestern edge of a fertile valley which, thousand of years later, would be known as "Deutschlandsberg". Due to its elevated and almost completely protected location, the mound was chosen already by Neolithic people as a place to settle. From then on, countless generations have found a home here. On this rock, in the Middle Ages, finally a small, but magnificent castle was built.
The first documentary mention of a lord of the castle, "Count Lonsperg", dates to 1153. These counts administered the castle until until 1263. From 970 until far into the 19th century, both the "Landsberg" fortress and the administrative dominion of the same name, which was attached to it, belonged to the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The castle was expanded and renovated numerous times in Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance times. But as often happens, these periods of expansion were followed by decline, and from 1850 our small fortress fell into ruin. However, that was not the end of the story, because there were always people who took care of the castle and sought to restore it to its old greatness. Since 1932 the fortress has been owned by the municipality of Deutschlandsberg, and step by step it has been transformed into a significant exhibition center.
So as you can see, our castle, like the one in the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, has long since reawakened from its long slumber and opens its doors, as it has for centuries, to curious visitors.

In eight permanent exhibitions with more than 5,000 objects on exhibit, you can experience history in its most beautiful form. You can walk through the old parts of the castle directly on the trail of its builders or enjoy a stunning view over the region on our viewing tower. With a little luck you can even look over our archeologists' shoulders and see the newest finds.

Nekoč je bil ...
... na severozahodnem robu rodovitne doline skalni greben, ki bo tisočletja pozneje znan pod imenom Deutschlandsberg. Vzpetina je zaradi svoje povišane in skorajda popolnoma zaščitene lege okoli služila kot naselbinsko mesto že ljudem iz mlajše kamene dobe, nato pa je ponudila bivališče številnim naslednjim rodovom. Točno na tej skali je bil v srednjem veku zgrajen majhen, razkošen grad.
Prvi grajski gospod, znan tudi kot Graf zu Lonsperg, se v listinah prvič omenja leta 1153. Do leta 1263 je upravljal s posestvom "Landsberg" v današnji zahodni avstrijski Štajerski kot tudi z istoimensko trdnjavo, kjer je bil sedež glavne uprave, ki je pripadal salzburški nadškofiji od leta 970 vse do 19. stoletja.
Trdnjavo so večkrat prezidali in prenovili v obdobju romanike, gotike in renesanse. Kot že večkrat v zgodovini, vzponu sledi padec, in tako se je majhna trdnjava od leta 1850 postopoma spreminjala v ruševino. Kljub temu pa to ni bil konec njene zgodovine, saj so se zmeraj pojavljali ljudje, ki so jo prevzeli in ji pomagali k novemu vzponu. Od leta 1932 je omenjeni grad v lasti mestne občine Deutschlandsberg in se postopoma razvija v nadregionalni razstavni center.
Vidite lahko, da se je naš grad že zdavnaj prebudil iz zasanjanosti in odpira svoja vrata za radovedne obiskovalce, kot že pred stoletji.
