Geocache Description:

Neabsco Creek is a local watercourse that runs close to 14 miles from this location to where it joins the Potomac River.  Local cachers will get a lot of exposure to Neabsco Creek in different places.  Some of our favorites included:

GC4ZVRJ By the Power of Grayskull!: This was a fun multicache with quite a number of stages that had us finding ways to cross Neabsco Creek multiple times.  Don't forget to replace He Man's sword once you have the power.

GC3F58 Tayloe's Iron Works: Said to be PW's oldest geocache, it highlights a little-known iron foundry from colonial times.  We managed to find it without crossing the creek.  The water wheel channel is still visible.

GC90A60 Adventure Lab Bonus: The Swamp Boardwalk: A recent addition, the Neabsco Creek boardwalk is probably the neatest spot on the creek.  The boardwalk carries the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail across the creek and estuary where it joins the Potomac.  In addition to the adventure lab and its bonus, there is some amazing wildlife to be seen including eagles and great blue herons.

This cache is placed as close as we could get to the source of Neabsco.  You will easily step right across the creek here.  If you look carefully, you will see one place where the creek bubbles up out of the ground.

The cache is a small jar with some launch stickers and an Apollo patch for ftf.  You might consider bringing your toolkit for this one, unless you have long arms....
