Coast Guard Rd #6 Spinnaker’s Reach

Emerald Isle is a 12-mile stretch of island on Bogue Banks in the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina. Just a half-mile wide, Emerald Isle boasts a relaxing, family atmosphere, with the most comfortable and luxurious vacation rentals set amidst the most amazing beaches. You can get to Emerald Isle by either driving or flying. Emerald Isle and North Carolina’s Crystal Coast are known for their crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand beaches. Families return to Emerald Isle year after year to vacation on the long stretch of coastline and enjoy all the fun activities that are available both on and off the water.

The Emerald Isle bike path is a popular feature of the town with visitors as well as residents. The Emerald Path extends approximately 11 miles from the Indian Beach town limits all the way to The Point at Bogue Inlet. The path winds through grassy areas along Coast Guard Road to Loon Drive, snakes through wooded areas from Loon Drive to the Welcome Center, meanders through the downtown district and passes the Municipal Complex at Black Skimmer Drive and ends at the eastern town limits.  The bike path provides an alternative means of transportation to key destinations in Town, as well as provides an additional recreational opportunity in Emerald Isle.  The path was constructed with NCDOT Enhancement assistance.
