Geocache Description:


1029年、高椅神社の境内に井戸を掘ったところ大きなコイがでてきたので、霊魚として宮中に献上したところ、天皇から”日本一社禁鯉宮”との勅額を賜りました。このいわれより、現在でも地域住民は鯉を食べず、鯉の絵が描かれた器は使わず、5月にこいのぼりも立てない風習が続いており「鯉の明神さま」として親しまれています。春には桜、6月には蓮の花が見頃となります。
