MARYLAND VINTAGE
CACHE CHALLENGE
(a.k.a. Oldest cache in each County)
This is a challenge cache, the purpose of which is to encourage geocachers to go out and find those early active caches in each County of Maryland, plus Baltimore City. I love finding old caches and (GC25W3Y) Maryland's 5 Oldest Challenge was one of my favorites and helped inspire this cache along with the Historical Caches series by deepdish23 and alzarius. If you found Maryland's 5 Oldest Challenge you will already have 7 of the needed caches.
The geocache is hidden at the listed coordinates. To log this cache as found you must complete the challenge described below.
The requirements for completing this challenge:
1) Find 20 geocaches from the list of 24 oldest, active geocaches, in each jurisdiction of Maryland.
2) Use the Project-GC Challenge Checker to verify that you qualify for this challenge.
A few notes:
1) If any of the geocaches are owned by you, you may claim them on your list.
2) If any cache on the list is archived, then the next oldest active cache will be added.
3) If you found a cache, that is now archived, and it is older than the current oldest one in the jurisdiction list, it will be recognized by the Challenge Checker. Archived caches will be allowed on your list of 20 caches to qualify.
4) A successful run of the Challenge Checker serves as your proof of qualification. The checker will provide a formatted list should you wish to copy/paste one into your log.
5) If you have not yet completed this challenge, you may still find the geocache and sign the log, but you may not log it as a find until you have successfully completed the challenge. Any found-it logs submitted without completing the challenge will be deleted.

If you found the previous Anne Arundel oldest "Klause's Christmas cache" it will count in the challenge checker for the county.

The highest difficulty and terrain ratings for any of the vintage caches are 3.5 and 3.5. The rating for this cache reflects the actual vintage cache ratings plus the effort required to complete the challenge; the hide itself would be rated a 2.0 difficulty and 3.0 terrain for this challenge cache. The container is a clear plastic lock n' lock.
This geocache is placed in Patapsco Valley State Park. Permission has been granted for placement of this geocache. This geocache should only be sought in daylight hours.
