The Copiague trolly line. In 1910, the South Shore Traction Company, soon after merged with the Babylon Railroad Co, celebrated the opening of their new electrified trolly train line. The branch ran from Copiague to Lindenhurst then to the Babylon dock. A popular stop, the Babylon dock was where the ferries to Oak Beach Island would run for the summer tourists. People would come in from the city via the train, and catch the trolly to the ferry, to the beach for 40 cents. Due to financial hardship, the company ceased to exist in 1920. Prior to the electrification of the lines, how were the trolleys powered.
