Welcome to Copiague History and facts Geo-Art design as part of an Eagle Scout project by Troop 2000. The Eagle represents the Copiague schools’ mascot and the Eagle scout rank in scouting. This GeoArt is designed to bring attention to the beautiful hamlet of Copiague while learning history & trivia you might not have known existed around you. This Eagle project was done in conjunction with the Town of Babylon Beautification Program.

Jerry Tucker was a child actor born 1931, most known for his part as the rich kid in the 1930s television series “The Little Rascals” at the age of 4. Jerry's father died when he was only five. When World War II broke out, Jerry left Hollywood to enlist in the U.S. Navy using his real last name of Schatz. During the Battle of Okinawa in 1945, Jerry injured his leg when the ship he was on was attacked by a kamikaze. He received a Purple Heart for his service. After the war, Jerry and his wife settled into a quiet suburban life in Copiague. The Town of Babylon dedicated a portion of St Ann’s Avenue to him; Jerry Schatz Place (St Ann’s Avenue) November 1, 2015, about a year before he died on November 23, 2016.
