The original cache is dedicated to our friends "Peaches" and "Norm" who bravely chose Friday July 13th as their wedding date. Despite several mishaps, which were chronicled in the Toronto Star, our wish was that the cache would bring them only good luck. To ensure this, we hid the original cache with lots of romantic items, including a heart paper clip, heart pins, heart garters, romantic stickers and charms
We are happy to report that Peaches 'N Norm continue to have a very 'lucky' marriage. However, the original cache was not quite as lucky. It has been covered by the rotting body of a dead raccoon and was then swept downhill by a mudslide. As the old location has now become a party zone for the locals, we have moved this new improved cache further along the creek, away from this 'unlucky' area.
The "Next Generation" version of this cache still contains lots of romantic swag. Peaches 'n Norm have added two children to their family, hence the 'next generation' added to the cache name.
The cache is located in Warden Woods Park. The entrance to the public parking lot is N43 41.857' and W79 17.130'. Follow the paved Gus Harris Trail (named for the mayor of Scarborough from 1978 to 1988) along the Massey Creek. Don't ford the river on your own. Wait until you reach the bridge to cross and then take the more natural path that follows the west side of creek. . You will not need to leave the path until you are 1-2 metres from the cache. The leafy canopy can present a bit of challenge for your GPS so you may need the clue to finish off the hunt.
Note: The terrain rating is based on parking in the Warden Woods Park parking lot and following the trails. If you choose to park in the Community Centre lot, be prepared for a much steeper hill.
