FOOTSTEPS IN TIME:
About 563AD, give or take a little, Saint Columba landed in Scotland at a point not far from this location on his exile from what is today Northern Ireland. Visit his footprints in the stone nearby, and see how your feet compare in size to his. From where you stand you will be able to see Sanda Island, which has a pub and a lighthouse on it. If it’s a clear day you will also be able to see the Northern Irish Coastline.
If there are people visiting the footprints when you arrive then why not explore the nearby wishing well or pirates graveyard which are both a little further down the path to the east (towards the village), or visit the Keil (Pipers) cave a short walk to the west until they have gone.
