Casa Tradicional em Água de Pau
O Núcleo da Mercearia Central – Casa Tradicional está alojado num edifício fundado no século XIX, que foi ampliado no século passado com a construção do andar superior. Neste equipamento recordam-se, em ambientes musealizados, as vivências comerciais e domésticas de uma família da pequena burguesia local. O piso térreo contém a antiga Mercearia enquanto a residência dos antigos proprietários ocupa o piso elevado. Os manequins que convidam os transeuntes a entrar foram concebidos por alunos da Escola Básica Integrada de Água de Pau, ao abrigo de uma parceria celebrada entre a autarquia e o estabelecimento de ensino.
O núcleo museológico Mercearia Central – Casa Tradicional é já uma referência cultural e turística na Vila de Água de Pau e no próprio concelho de Lagoa e, à semelhança doa anos transatos, a Câmara Municipal vai proceder à sua abertura durante os meses de verão. Desde a sua abertura em agosto de 2011, a Mercearia Central já recebeu a visita de cerca de 8000 turistas, tanto locais, como estrangeiros das mais diversas nacionalidades, o que demonstra a importância que os museus e núcleos museológicos desempenham no seio das suas comunidades, não só pela divulgação cultural do passado, como pelo estímulo económico que proporcionam nos locais onde se encontram inseridos.
Todos quantos visitam a Mercearia Central – Casa Tradicional têm a oportunidade de ver e sentir o modo de ser de outrora, preservado dentro deste imóvel, recuperado pela autarquia lagoense e que já se tornou um ícone cultural e turístico dentro do concelho. Este é um espaço que assune particular importância na divulgação de produtos regionais, em especial do concelho de Lagoa, nomeadamente das peças de cerâmica, iguarias gastronómicas e artesanato.
O núcleo museológico Mercearia Central – Casa Tradicional foi um imóvel adquirido pela Câmara Municipal de Lagoa, tendo sido objeto de obras de consolidação e musealização, no qual se manteve, ao nível do piso térreo, o antigo estabelecimento comercial, com o tradicional espaço de taberna contíguo e, no primeiro, andar, a habitação dos respetivos proprietários, José Inácio Vieira Favela e Angelina da Conceição Reis.

Traditional House in Água de Pau
The Central Mercearia Nucleus - Casa Tradicional is housed in a building founded in the 19th century, which was expanded in the last century with the construction of the upper floor. This equipment recalls, in musealized environments, the commercial and domestic experiences of a family of the local petty bourgeoisie. The ground floor contains the old Grocery Store while the former owners' residence occupies the raised floor. The mannequins that invite passers-by to enter were designed by students from the Integrated Basic School of Água de Pau, under a partnership between the local authority and the educational establishment.
The museum center Mercearia Central - Casa Tradicional is already a cultural and tourist reference in the village of Água de Pau and in the municipality of Lagoa itself, and similarly to the past years, the City Council will open it during the summer months. Since its opening in August 2011, Mercearia Central has already received the visit of around 8000 tourists, both local and foreigners of the most diverse nationalities, which demonstrates the importance that museums and museum centers play in the heart of their communities, not only for the cultural dissemination of the past, but also for the economic stimulus they provide in the places where they are inserted.
All those who visit the Mercearia Central - Casa Tradicional have the opportunity to see and feel the way of being of old, preserved inside this property, recovered by the local authority of Lagoa and which has already become a cultural and tourist icon within the municipality. This is a space that assumes particular importance in the dissemination of regional products, especially in the municipality of Lagoa, namely ceramic pieces, gastronomic delicacies and handicrafts.
The Mercearia Central - Casa Tradicional museum nucleus was a property acquired by the Municipality of Lagoa, having been the object of consolidation and museum works, in which, on the ground floor, the old commercial establishment was kept, with the traditional tavern space. adjoining and, on the first floor, the housing of the respective owners, José Inácio Vieira Favela and Angelina da Conceição Reis.
