Geocache Description:

I am pleased to report the 100th Cache in Utah. This is an urban cache. Well, semi-urban. Spanish Fork is kind of in between. And yes, it IS on public property.

This cache is, as any cacher who has visited can attest, COMPLETELY surrounded by dogs.

My "Best Friend" was injured by a car on 11-27-2001, and I had to let him go. The following poem was sent to me by another Geocacher who has felt the same loss.

There is a bridge connecting heaven and Earth.

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills and valleys, all of it covered with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this lovely land. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. There, the old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole once more. They play all day with each other, content and comfortable.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with the special person who loved them on Earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! Then, the nose twitches! The ears up! The eyes are staring! You have been seen, and that one suddenly runs from the group!

You take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then, together, you cross the Rainbow Bridge, never again to be separated.

  • BigDrop - BUSTED!!About 11:20 pm my dog started going nuts. I wandered out to check on him, camera in hand, and look what I found!!
  • Caught this one on 9-26-01.
  • One of the DOGSThis is MY dog, Ben. He is a Golden Retriever (Mix). He showed up at our house about two weeks after we bought it, five years ago, and we liked him so we let him stay. This is the dog behind the WOODEN fence that goes nuts whenever anyone visits the cache. He is noisy when strangers come around, but harmless. (ALL dog owners say that!)
  • Seldom: BUSTED!10/19/2001 - Been awhile since I caught anyone. Enjoyed meeting you, Seldom.
  • Another one of "THE DOGS"We adopted "Jerry" from the BYU veterinary program. He is a Brittany Spaniel. The dogs are selected by the program, and the are spayed/neutered, de-wormed, microchipped, and have all their shots. Adoption fee is $45. Great cause, great program. And another great friend for our family and our other dog, Ben.
  • Goodbye, BenMy Best Friend was hit by a car on 11-27-2001. We took him to the vet, and said our goodbyes. Very sad day. God bless all the great dogs in all of our lives.
