Geocache Description:

This cache is named after a giant's kettle (hiidenkirnu) in Lauttasaari. As the surrounding rocks tend to get very crowded in summer, the cache itself is placed out of direct sight.

How to find the kettle?

  • Find a bench that reads "Ystävyydelle", sit down and enjoy the view. Then look right, locate a small group of trees and go there.
  • Or just navigate to the waypoint located at N 60° 9.155' E 24° 51.336'

What is a giant's kettle?

A typically large and cylindrical pothole drilled in solid rock underlying a glacier either by water descend by gravel rotating in the bed of subglacial meltwater stream. (Source: Wikipedia).
