About Assumption Church:

The Assumption Church was built in 1911 and dedicated in 1912. Mayor William Rubly attended the laying of the church cornerstone. The church architect was Mr. Brigandi and was designed in the Romanesque style. The church was built entirely of Tuckahoe marble by local labor.
