Welcome to our series of 10 geocaches, a 6km loop (2hour stroll) round our village, river and woods. Along the way you'll find out about the places you visit, how they relate to the environment we live in and hopefully have some fun (& some fresh air).
So, you've left the river and started to climb up Deepdale beside its brook, what a wonderful place to spot squirrels, birds and even otters back down by the river. Woodlands play an important part in the carbon cycle, effectively taking carbon from the air and locking it away, until releasing it back to the soil when they fall down and degrade.
