This cache is one of a small series placed within the grounds of Acorn Bank Gardens, with the kind permission of the National Trust. As such, please note that it is only accessible during estate opening hours, and at the time of writing subject to further access restrictions due to COVID pandemic precautions. Access to these caches is free to NT members, but entrance and parking charges will apply to visit the grounds. Dogs must be kept on leads in the grounds, and please be aware of deep and fast running water in the grounds.
This cache is close to the wear, where the sluice gate controls the flow of water from the Crowdundle down to the mill and the ponds. If your are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of a kingfisher flashing along the water, or if you are luckier still, you might see an otter of a water vole along the bank.
The cache here is under a log in a camoflaged bag alognside the path down to the weir, and is large enough for small trackables and swaps. Please bring your own pen and re-hide carefully.
