Geocache Description:

Wikipedia Omega :

Omega (capital: Ω, lowercase: ω) is the 24th and final letter in the Greek alphabet.
  • In the Greek numeric system/Isopsephy (Gematria), it has a value of 800.
  • The word literally means "great O" (ō mega, mega meaning "great"), as opposed to "omicron", which means "little o"(o mikron, micron meaning "little").
  • In phonetic terms, the Ancient Greek Ω is a long open-mid o, comparable to the vowel of English raw. In Modern Greek, Ω represents the mid back rounded vowel, the same sound as omicron. The letter omega is transcribed ō or simply o.
  • As the final letter in the Greek alphabet, omega is often used to denote the last, the end, or the ultimate limit of a set, in contrast to alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet; see Alpha and Omega
  • And a lot more uses of the Omega symbol you will find on Wikipedia …

Geo-Art Omega

First of all, I will describe all the details of the complete set „Geo-Art Ω“. So there is no need to describe the same topics at each particular cache of the set :
  • Geo-Art Omega is a short walk of approximately 4 km. in a quiet area where the olive trees are certainly present.
  • 15 caches, 14 mysteries (Omega A to Omega N) that are not so difficult to solve and one BONUS.
  • In the listing of each cache you will find only the information/riddle which you will need to find the waypoint.
  • All of the puzzles can be resolved with CacheSleuth code tables or; but not all; with Geocachingtoolbox codes.
  • You receive a hint in the form of a description to find the correct decipher codename.
  • The texts in the coordinates are in English.
  • And also this hint: all puzzle names start with the letter of the cache list (Omega x) and this letter is also the letter in the bonus waypoint that represents the digit in the coordinate. You will find the number in the cache, do not forget to write it down.
  • A pen (pencil) may be provided in the cache. But just to be sure, always bring your own!

  • Please respect these simple rules, thank you:

  • Park your car at the indicated parking coordinates. Do not park along the road or between the olive trees (= private property).
  • Especially in the summer, make sure you have water with you. This applies to all hikes on Crete, even in the mountains.
  • Make sure you throw your waste in a container, not along the road.
  • I will not give a spoiler photo for the moment, if later it turns out that there are difficulties then I will post a spoiler photo if necessary. So, keep it sporty and dont place any spoiler, I would unfortunately have to remove the log with the spoiler.

Ok here we go ...
