Shugrue Farm Reserve on Long Hill is a 225 acre property purchased by the Town of East Haddam Ct in 2012. It was used as a dairy farm for most of its 200 year old history but during the 1920's it was converted to a golf course. The stock market crash in 1929 ended the golf course. Sections of the farm are still in operation. There is a well defined trail system on the property accessible from either of the two parking area. The main parking area is on Lake Hayward Town Rd. The cache is a plastic container hidden in a spot that may take some searching to locate.
