Geocache Description:

The first families to permanently settle the area were the Black, Moore, and Mauney families. Soon after many more families came into the area. The settlement that had originally begun along the banks of Indian Creek was now spreading quickly into the area first called White Pine. The town name was officially changed to Cherryville in 1881 after a resident planted cherry trees along the railroad and the train engineers began calling the settlement “Cherryville.”

This cache is in a city park with plenty of parking. Beware of muggles if ball games are going on! Congats to RobinMohawk for FTF!!
