This CITO event will be held rain or shine, but is subject to delay in unlikely event of very high water over the river banks or other severe weather. A section of waterway has been adopted from Concord City as part of the "adopt-a-stream" program. This section includes about 300 feet of Back Creek to Rocky River, and Rocky River from slightly above Back Creek to about 0.3 miles downriver from Rocky River Road bridge.
For this event we will be taking all necessary precautions, spreading out, and removing trash from along along the road and bridge along Rocky River Road over Rocky River. As time allows we will also clean up along the banks of Rocky River. If you wish to paddle or wade that is also an option. Please let me know your plans in your Will Attend Log.
Caution:
This activity has risks including slips, falls, vehicle traffic accidents, or even possibly drowning. The area near the river and creek are known to be very slippery when wet, and some sections are quite steep or rocky. By participating, you agree to be responsible for yourself, and to limit your participation as you see fit for your own safety. You agree to NOT hold the organizers responsible in any way.
Note:
Please bring your own trash bags, gloves, footwear and other clothes for rough, overgrown, or slippery terrain. Trash grabbers are also recommended. Some gloves, boots and waders, and trash grabbers may be available from the Adopt-a-Stream program; let me know in your Will Attend Log if you wish to borrow any. Parking may be available at the new Thread Trail parking lot near the posted coordinates, or we will park along the nearby streets as available.
