Über diesen verwunschenen Platz sind wir in unserer MTB Tour nach la Caleta gestoßen. Es ist der Start zu einem Wanderweg in Richtung la Caleta zum Meer. Der Weg kann problemlos mit dem MTB gefahren werden, nur an einigen Stellen sollten ungeübte Fahrer absteigen.
Steinmännchen – Was genau hat es eigentlich mit den lustigen, kleinen oder größeren Gebilden am Wegesrand auf sich? Überall auf Teneriffa sind diese zu finden. Hübsch anzusehen, jeder scheint mit zu bauen und Bilder gibt es unzählige von ihnen. Welche Bedeutung haben Steinmännchen?
Früher dienten diese Steinkonstrukte der Wegfindung. Heute sind die meisten Wege – zumindest in Europa – weitestgehend durch farbige Wegmarkierungen definiert. Die Idee der lustigen Steinmännchen aber scheint viele Wanderer zu inspirieren und so werden an besonders schönen Stellen in den Bergen Steine gestapelt. Heute, weil es ein Trend wurde. Der allerdings oft auch fraglich gesehen wird.
So ist es auch dazu gekommen, dass gerade an Küstenregionen auf Teneriffa die Umweltschützer diese Steinmännchen wieder in ihren ursprüngliche Form zurückversetzten. So kommt es auch, dass man mittlerweile an den Stränden der Balearen und der Kanaren Hinweisschilder mit einer alten Outdoor-Weisheit findet: "Der beste Naturbesuch sei der, der keine Spuren hinterlässt." Auch die amerikanische Wandergesellschaft forderte von ihren Mitgliedern unlängst ein Bekenntnis zur „Lass nichts zurück“-Philosophie, ähnlich wie im GeoCaching also.
Ob dies auch an dieser Stelle, die nicht am Wasser liegt, von Bedeutung ist weiß ich nicht. Vielleicht weiß es ja einer von Euch?

Nos encontramos con este lugar encantado en nuestra excursión en BTT a la Caleta. Es el inicio de una ruta de senderismo en dirección a la Caleta hasta el mar. El sendero se puede recorrer fácilmente con la MTB, sólo en algunos lugares los ciclistas inexpertos deberían bajarse.
Mojones de piedra - ¿Qué son exactamente estas graciosas estructuras, pequeñas o grandes, al borde del camino? Se pueden encontrar en todas partes en Tenerife. Son bonitas, todo el mundo parece construir con ellas y hay innumerables fotos de ellas. ¿Cuál es el significado de los mojones?
Antiguamente, estas construcciones de piedra servían para encontrar el camino. Hoy en día, la mayoría de los senderos -al menos en Europa- están definidos en gran medida por hitos de colores. Sin embargo, la idea de los graciosos mojones parece inspirar a muchos excursionistas, por lo que las piedras se apilan en lugares especialmente bellos de las montañas. Hoy en día, porque se convirtió en una tendencia. Lo cual, sin embargo, también se ve a menudo como algo cuestionable.
Así que también se ha llegado al hecho de que justo en las regiones costeras de Tenerife los ecologistas devuelven estos mojones a su forma original. Por eso también se encuentra mientras tanto en las playas de Baleares y Canarias carteles con una vieja sabiduría al aire libre: "La mejor visita a la naturaleza es la que no deja huellas". Incluso la Sociedad Americana de Senderismo exigió recientemente a sus miembros que se comprometieran con la filosofía de "no dejar nada atrás", similar a la de GeoCaching.

We came across this enchanted place in our MTB tour to la Caleta. It is the start to a hiking trail in the direction of la Caleta to the sea. The path can be driven easily with the MTB, only in some places inexperienced riders should dismount.
Cairns - What exactly is it about the funny, small or larger structures at the edge of the path? Everywhere on Tenerife these are to be found. Pretty to look at, everyone seems to build with and pictures there are countless of them. What is the meaning of cairns?
In the past, these stone constructs were used to find the way. Today, most paths - at least in Europe - are largely defined by colored waymarkers. The idea of the funny cairns, however, seems to inspire many hikers and so stones are stacked in particularly beautiful places in the mountains. Today, because it became a trend. Which, however, is often also seen questionable.
So it has also come to the fact that just in coastal regions on Tenerife the environmentalists put these cairns back into their original form. So it comes also that one finds in the meantime at the beaches of the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands signs with an old outdoor wisdom: "The best nature visit is that, which leaves no traces." The American Hiking Society also recently demanded a commitment from its members to the "leave nothing behind" philosophy, similar to GeoCaching, in other words.
