About Lake Erie Metropark

Just a short drive from the city, behold three miles of captivating Lake Erie shoreline and sweeping vistas that you can only get with a Great Lake and great river at 1,607-acre Lake Erie Metropark. Follow the path of lake freighters moving up and down along the Detroit River against exceptional views of Sugar Island, Grosse Ile, and Celeron Island. Scan the sky of this popular bird-watching site, with more than 300 species recorded, and you just might spot a migrating broad-wing hawk or a bald eagle flying above. This designated “Important Bird Area” is one of the premier hawk-watching sites in North America.  Experience the splendor of this Southeastern Michigan lakeshore treasure and make some of your best memories today.

About Lake Erie Marina

The Marina, located at the end of Lee Road, features more than 100 wells, complete with water and electricity for season dockage. The Marina is open from April 1 – October 31. Daily transient dockage is also available for boats up to 35 feet in length.

About the cache

The cache is a micro cache hidden near the start/end of the bike path.  As always, please use stealth and return the cache to its original location.  Also, when trading please trade fairly with items of equal or greater value.

This cache is located in Lake Erie Metropark.  A Metroparks vehicle permit is required for entry to the parks: $10 daily pass, $40 annual pass, $29 annual seniors pass. All park rules and regulations apply. Please park in parking lots only. For general information please call 810-227-2752, or visit www.metroparks.comThe park hours are 6 am - 8 pm.
