Tranås kyrka byggdes 1880 och placerades på den nya kyrkogården, nordväst om den plats där den gamla 1100-tals-kyrkan legat. Kyrkan vilar på en grund av kilad gråsten, och är uppförd i rött tegel. Torn och kyrka är täckt med galvaniserad plåt. Kyrktornets hela höjd är 33,3 meter och utvändigt avdelat i tre våningar.
Det kröntes ursprungligen av ett högt kors på en kula med tillhörande fot av gjutjärn. Korset med kula och fot föll ner vid en stark storm, och ersattes 1905 med ett annat av koppar. Den gamla kulan och foten försågs med ett nytt järnkors och uppsattes på den plats där den gamla kyrkan förut låg.

Tranås church was built in 1880 and placed in the new cemetery, northwest of the place where the old 12th century church was located. The church rests on a foundation of wedged gray stone, and is built of red brick. The tower and church are covered with galvanized sheet metal. The entire height of the church tower is 33.3 meters and the outside is divided into three floors. It was originally crowned by a high cross on a ball with an associated foot of cast iron. The cross with bullet and foot fell in a strong storm, and was replaced in 1905 with another of copper. The old ball and foot were provided with a new iron cross and erected on the site of the old church.
