Geocache Description:

Hightown Hill is the highest point on a long ridge which goes from Hazelshaw Hill near Collin to Pinnacle Hill at Shieldhill. It is a Sub 2000 Marilyn too and has a trig point.

It's a fine vantage point with particularly good views to the Moffat Hills to the North East. It also overlooks Brunt Shileds Farm where my wife grew up.

To access the fell, take a footpath directly opposite Hightown Farm. Follow this onto the open hillside and make your way to the top. There's also a an Iron Age Hill fort at White Hill which has recently been resurveyed to be the same height as Hightown Hill. The route up and down should take less than an hour.

Parking is available at the waypoint listed just below Hightown Farm.
