In the suburb of Conder , one man's passion of building the UP house from the movie is finally complete.
For the past 15 months, a Canberra man has spent all his spare time building the colourful replica in the backyard of the family's Conder home.
Mr Fincher — an IT consultant — used the same materials a tradesperson would use to build a house.
"It's constructed just like a house and weighs between three and four tonnes," he said.
"I think it's more solid than our own house."
"It's got to be somewhere around the $10,000 mark," he said.
"It has about $1,500 worth of roofing, a couple of thousand dollars worth of structural pine plus, of course, I ended up insulating it, and I had to put my IT touch on it by adding Wi-Fi so the kids could stream movies when they had sleepovers inside the giant UP cubby.
Parking co-ords are supplied. A short walk up the public reserve trail will result in the GZ area for the cache. Due to another cache nearby , it cant be placed exactly at the UP house . You can see it from the cache . Once you have found the cache , walk over the final 50m and get a close up view from the UP house back fence line.Stealth required.The lady in the closest house in between is aware of the cache and will call out a hint if you look lost . The cache is small with a log book, pencil, collectables and swaps. Please rehide exactly as you found it.
