Obervellach besitzt nordwestlich nahe der Mallnitzer Straße eine eindruckvolle Kalvarienberganlage.
Die Kirche wurde 1732 von der inzwischen ausgestorbenen Familie Ertl, gestiftet.
Die zwölf Kreuzwegstationen sind einfache Nischenbauten mit schlichten Bildern die zur Andacht einladen. Die Kalvarienbergkirche in stiller Landschaft mit der mächtigen Hochgebirgskulissen im Hintergrund ist ein einschiffiges Langhaus, mit rechteckigen Chor und Anbau für das hl. Grab. Die Innenausstattung, die barocke Kanzel, die Kirchenstühle sowie Statuen und Gemälde, die den Leidensweg Christi darstellen.

Obervellach has an impressive Calvary to the northwest near the Mallnitz road. The church was donated in 1732 by the now extinct Ertl family.
The twelve stations of the cross are simple niches with plain pictures that invite to devotion. The Calvary Church in a quiet landscape with the mighty high mountain backdrop is a single-nave nave, with rectangular chancel and annex for the Holy Sepulchre. The interior decoration, the baroque pulpit, the pews as well as statues and paintings depicting the Passion of Christ.
