Geocache Description:

Pennsylvania Firefly (Photuris pennsylvanica)

Insects and bugs do not adhere to man-drawn borders on a map and as such they may be found beyond their listed ‘reach’.  Insects and bugs are typically drawn to a given area by available food supply, weather, environmental factors, water supply, reproductive patterns, etc. and can be territorial.  They can also be transported unknowingly in many different ways.  Therefore consider this insect, bug or spider identified is part of the 1001 different types that have been found in Florida.

You will be on established National Forest Roads #49, #02 or #45.  We did encounter a few loose sand spots, otherwise the roads were in good condition.  We used high profile 4X4 vehicles to place caches and did not need to use 4WD (almost did once).  This does not mean you could not possibility get stuck in one of the loose sandy spots.  Don’t let your guard down because you will get scratched or trip on vines.  Speaking from experience in the area, bandages were used today.  We saw lots of Bear tracks, Turkey tracks, Raccoon tracks, Yodel Dog tracks and Dear tracks.  This is a forest and there is lots of stuff we did not see today, like Snakes.  The cell service seamed OK all day.  Bring along your camp chairs, find a shady spot and have a picnic lunch.

The containers are different in this area.  Most of them are pill bottles, a few small storage containers and some soda pop preforms.  The GPS bounce in this area while placing these was not that bad today.  Have fun, do not get lost, be safe and stay healthy.

You are looking for a pill bottle.
