A Memorial to AZKokopelli
This cache memorializes our beloved geocaching reviewer, AZKokopelli, whose real name was Cornelius “Al” Schoon, and who was known by many as the “Duckmeister.” Under the name “cschooner,” Al placed over 400 caches, which are famous for their wit and craftsmanship, and many of which are based on a rubber duck theme. Always willing to share his geocaching passion with others, he spoke at tradeshows, worked with Scout troops, and appeared on Phoenix television and radio shows. As a reviewer, he helped geocachers navigate the process of creating geocaches and events, patiently ensuring they were successful. Our friend and mentor, AZKokopelli, passed away December 27, 2020.
