Na vzpetini Cvibelj nad Žužemberkom se nahaja največja partizanska grobnica v Sloveniji. Kostnica je skupna za umrle iz večih grobišč na območju Suhe krajine. Vitek spomenik nad njo je viden daleč naokoli.
The largest partisan tomb in Slovenia is located on the Cvibelj hill above Žužemberk. The ossuary is common for the dead from several cemeteries in the Suha krajina area. The slender monument above it is visible far and wide.
V pokončne plošče so vklesana imena 1150 padlih partizanov, aktivistov OF, internirancev (od tega jih je 243 s širšega območja Žužemberka (69 padlih borcev os skupno 231 iz tega območja, 143 ubitih civilnih žrtev, 31 umrlih od skupno 261 interniranih)) in tudi pripadnikov mednarodnih enot, ki so bile v sestavi slovenske narodnoosvobodilne vojske. Na območju Suhe krajine so umirali borci in borke legendarnih partizanskih enot, zlasti pripadniki 7. korpusa, pa tudi borci proti fašizmu in nacizmu iz drugih republik nekdanje Jugoslavije, držav nekdanje Sovjetske zveze, iz Italije, Avstrije, Češke, Litve in še katere države.

Mogočno obeležje, ki je bilo postavljeno v spomin žrtvam za svobodo, obvladuje celotno gornjo dolino Krke. Spomenik je postavil Republiški odbor ZZBNOB Slovenije 22. junija leta 1961, ob 20-letnici vstaje slovenskega naroda v okviru celotne republike ter praznika Občine Žužemberk. Obelisk iz aluminija je težak 4500 kg, 16-metrski spomenik meri v višino z betonskim podstavkom skupaj okoli 25 metrov. Pod spomenikom je grobnica, toda v njej niso pokopani vsi, ki so navedeni na ploščah, saj so nekatere sorodniki po koncu vojne prekopali na pokopališča v domačih krajih. Na ploščah naj bi manjkalo še približno 990 imen. Spomenik NOB je bil prvič obnovljen v letu 1973, drugič leta 1988, ko so ob njem na novo postavili devet granitnih blokov, kar je bila oblikovna rešitev arhitekta Jova Grobovška. Tretjič je bil spomenik obnovljen leta 2004, ko so med drugim uredili okolico in obnovili napise. Spomenik NOB na Cviblju je vpisan v Zbirni register dediščine, ima status spomenika tujih armad in status kulturnega spomenika, pridobil pa naj bi tudi status spomenika državnega pomena.
A mighty memorial, erected in memory of the victims of freedom, dominates the entire upper Krka valley. The monument was erected by the Republic Committee of the ZZBNOB of Slovenia on 22 June 1961, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the uprising of the Slovene nation within the entire republic and the holiday of the Municipality of Žužemberk. The aluminum obelisk weighs 4,500 kg, and the 16-meter monument measures about 25 meters in height with a concrete base. There is a tomb under the monument, but not all of those listed on the plaques are buried in it, as some relatives were dug up in cemeteries in their home towns after the end of the war. About 990 names are still missing from the records. The monument to the National Liberation War was first restored in 1973, and for the second time in 1988, when nine new granite blocks were erected next to it, which was a design solution by architect Jova Grobovšek. The third time the monument was restored was in 2004, when, among other things, the surroundings and inscriptions were restored. The monument to the National Liberation War in Cvibelj is entered in the Collective Register of Heritage, has the status of a monument to foreign armies and the status of a cultural monument, and is also expected to acquire the status of a monument of national importance.
