The revitalised Altnew series now comprises 8 caches placed on a circular walk, which starts in Altofts, touches on the edge of the historic Newlands estate and offers glimpses of Normanton, Wakefield and even Emley Moor mast on a clear day. Numbers 3-6 are the original, with the other 4 being new caches. Street parking is available near Altnew 1 but please be considerate.
The whole walk should take between 60 to 75 minutes and is virtually all a mixture of clearly defined field paths and old roads. These can become very muddy in wet conditions and walking boots are recommended. Unfortunately, it is not really suitable for pushchairs..
