Daishoin is the oldest temple in Miyajima, built in 806. Betsutoji Temple of Itsukushima Shrine (Betsutoji Temple: A temple that managed the shrine before the Meiji era. It existed until the temple and the shrine (Buddhism and Shinto) were separated in the Meiji era). Many Buddhist statues are enshrined, including the one-sided Kanzeon Bosatsu.
This temple is really full of attractions! It's interesting to go through the gate and go up the stairs on the approach road! The railing on the approach road is lined with prayer wheels that follow the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. This is a Buddhist altar that is considered to have read the sutra by climbing while turning.

"Going around the platform": Dive under the temple and groping in the darkness. It is a training dojo for removing the sins that you have accumulated.
"Sand Mandala": It is installed in the back of the front of Kannon-do. A very large and gorgeous mandala painted in sand. It was created by a Tibetan monk to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of its founding.
"Stroking Buddha": It is said that stroking the part corresponding to the bad part of your body will cure you.
"Dharma doll": Fortune comes when you touch it.
"Large pestle": It is said that one's sins and anxieties are crushed by rotating three times.
"Hensho Cave": 88 statues are lined up in the cave, which have the same benefits as visiting 88 pilgrimage sites in Shikoku.
It is full of charm that other temples and shrines do not have. I hid the cache in the stone wall, which is the entrance to the Daishoin route, one of the Misen mountain trails. If you have time, please turn the prayer wheel and experience the platform tour!
大聖院は806年に創建された宮島で最も古い寺院です。厳島神社の別当寺（別当寺：明治時代以前に神社を管理していた寺。明治時代の神仏分離によって寺と神社（仏教と神道）が分けられるまで存在した）として、厳島神社の本地仏であった十一面観世音菩薩をはじめ数々の仏像を祀っています。
このお寺は、本当に見どころがいっぱい！門をくぐって参道の階段を上るところからして面白い！参道の手すりにはチベット仏教の流れを組むマニ車がずらりと並んでいます。これは回しながら登ることでお経を読んだとみなされる仏具です。
他にも
「戒壇めぐり」：お堂の下に潜り、真っ暗な中を手探りで進みます。自分が積み重ねた罪を取り除くための修行道場となっています。
「砂曼荼羅」：観音堂の正面奥に設置されています。非常に大きく華やかな、砂で描かれた曼荼羅です。開創1200年を記念してチベットの僧により創られました。
「撫で仏」：自分の身体の悪いところに相当するところを撫でると治癒するとされています。
「目だしダルマ」：触ると福が訪れます。
「大すりこぎ」：3回転することで自分の罪や煩悩をすりつぶすとされています。
「遍照窟」：四国88箇所のお遍路参りと同じご利益があるという88体の像が洞窟の中に並んでいます。
などなど、他の寺社にはない魅力に溢れています。弥山登山道のひとつ、大聖院ルートの入り口となる石垣にキャッシュを隠しました。時間があるようであれば、是非マニ車を回して、戒壇めぐりなどに触れてみてください！
