Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed for the 2021 Cache Across Maryland (CAM) picnic. The cache is a medium length hike from the Old Frederick Rd trailhead or the Pickall Area pavilions, and a longer hike from Drexel Woods Drive. It may be possible to bushwhack to this cache from the Pickall Area entrance road, but I have not tried this approach. The cache is located around 150' north of the nearest trail in relatively flat terrain.

Magicicada septendecula is a species of insect in family Cicadidae. It is endemic to the United States. Their median life cycle from egg to natural adult death is around seventeen years. However, their life cycle can range between thirteen and twenty-one years. (source: Wikipedia)

This cache has been approved by Maryland DNR.
