An excellent cache to target as a first find - an easy hide in a popular location. Redhill Common has had a history of quarrying, and was bought for the public's use in 1882.
This cache celebrates my first geocache find - a now archived nearby cache called The Italian Job (Link here if you're interested!). No GPS, I used Google maps and a compass bearing from the viewpoint to make the find! Luckily with smartphones these days most of us have a serviceable GPS in our pockets, so you should have no trouble finding this cache.
M&J are a kind couple from Colorado, USA, who gifted me the cache and almost all the contents - Thank you! You can see their calling card in the cache.
The cache is well stocked with Swag - please trade even or trade up. There's also space for trackables so do feel free to leave or take any you find and keep them moving :)
Ah, and you'll need a code to get into the cache - It's a four digit number to open the lock. Is there a year on this cache page that would help?
Please rehide as found, let's keep the cache hidden please. SEPT 2023, New cache container, please make sure both clips are fully closed (you'll hear a click) and you leave the cache as you found it.
There's a waypoint for parking - On street parking on Church road and walk up. Please don't try and park on High Trees Road - it's residential and narrow.
Finally, if you're interested in learning more about the story behind Redhill Common, why not explore the area though the nearby Adventure Lab cache - Save Redhill Common.
