This cache is not at the posted coordinates.
Letterboxing is in many ways similar to geocaching; the main difference is that letterboxes are found by following a series of clues rather than by using provided coordinates. As such, letterboxes are often harder to find than geocaches. Visit letterboxing.org for more information. Please be sure to leave the stamp and the pad in the cache.
Much like a real letterbox, you must follow the clues below to find this geocache. It is a relatively short and easy walk from the parking lot. Good luck, and happy hunting!
Clues
1) Start at the Dump Gulch trailhead.
2) Walk along McKelvey trail until you can see a clump of trees directly to the right of the trail up ahead.
3A) Go off the trail and follow the valley bottom to the right, OR
3B) Walk past these trees and take the hill down on the right side (the area with the trees is fairly steep, and hiking up or down it is not recommended).
4) Look for a downed log parallel to the trail.
Congrats to catmosca for being the FTF!
