Welcome to Moosehead, home of America's First Fire Tower! The tower once stood upon Big Moose MTN (formerly known as Squaw MTN) in Greenville, ME. But now rests, fully-restored, at the Moosehead Visitor's Center in Greenville, ME ... along with a replica Watchman's Camp! This is a quick P&G and a great spot to stop for a picnic, a stroll on the XC ski trails and to visit the tower!
PS....you can still hike up Big Moose MTN for great views & see the original Watchman's Camp as well as some old fire tower artifacts along the way .. such as old phone wire, insulators & the old fire tower footings on the summit! And, you can't beat the views from the top!!
