This is a regular footpath of ours, taking you from the main road (A608) across the road from Ferriby Cottage across the fields of Broomfield Hall Derby College. The College was predominantly an agricultural college, but over recent years following merging with Derby College they over a greater range of courses. Despite this, they still keep a range of animals on the farm and open for regular farm days where it is great to get up close with the animals.
This is a nature trail based cache (you will find out when you go finding) hidden on the public footpath going across the college. You can then proceed on and pick up a few other caches in the area across the road and through the fields attaching to Lime Farm.
A lovely scenic walk, and generally not overly busy with muggles either.
**This cache is part of an extension to the initial series**
This extension also has something of a nature theme, and it links up the recent Harry Potter Plod series at the other side of Morley linking up to Horsley, and also other series in the area too.
This particular one takes the trail off Broomfield College land and onto surrounding farm land and into the village. This one crossing the bridge looking towards the site of the Morley Mound, described as a medieval earthwork motte, encased by a wide wet ditch, and can be viewed from the footpath on which this cache takes you off onto.
