The Anahola Market Place is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. You can access this cache 7 days a week during daylight hours only. The manager has allowed us to place this cache but please do not disturb the employees. Please enjoy the local shops in the area. Please note update: Do NOT leave Trackables at this location - it has been looted a few times since its publish date.
This Directionally Challenged Cache is at the posted coordinates but you will need the answers to the following questions in order to unlock this cache. You will need a map of Kauai - which should be easily accessible. You probably have a ton of them in the tourist literature you picked up at the airport.
1. Which side of the island is Kekaha?
2. Which side of the island is Poipu?
3. From Anahola, which way would you travel to get to Kapaa?
4. Which side of the island is the Wailua River?
5. Which side of the island is the Barking Sands?
6. What side of the island is the little town that inspired the hometown of Disney's Lilo & Stitch? (This is tricky. Visit gohawaii.com to the Kauai section labeled "Regions of Kaua'i". 😮 Really??)
Armed with that knowledge, now you are ready to attempt to unlock this directional lock. Here's how to use the lock.
(Compass combo only N, E, S, W)
1. Squeeze the shackle firmly toward the lock twice and release to "clear" the lock each time before opening it.
2. Enter the combo by sliding the button to each position in the combo pattern. Note: Be sure to slide the button all the way in each direction, guiding the button back to the center position before moving to the next position.
3. Pull up on the shackle to open the lock.
4. To close the lock, insert the shackle and squeeze firmly.
A surprise awaits the first to find. Please take pictures as you open it and share!
Congrats to co-FTF LKLopez and Stuckin4th - the girls from Arizona.
If you are still unable to get the lock to work for you and get to the log, you may send me the answers to the questions and a picture of yourself next to the cache box through the messages of the Geocache app. Please wait for my response before you can count this as found.
